About the School
Our school, Edison G Agoram Memorial School was started in June, 1998, at Manalur, Chidambaram, Tamilnadu to commemorate the lofty ideals of late Shri G Agoram, an Engineer cum Industrialist par excellence, who idolised Thomas Alva Edison, in whose memory the school was named.
It is a friendly school in a quiet and peaceful rural setting, enabling children to develop all aspects of their individual potential through a broad & balanced, child-centered curriculum. It is a Co-Educational, Government Un-aided school, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
Apart from achieving 100% results in Class X boards, our students have many achievements in sports, fine arts, drama, elocution, robotics, yoga, creative design and others. We have been constantly pursuing excellence in the holistic development of the child. We pride ourselves as the first CBSE School in Chidambaram.

Our team of dedicated and talented staff are trained to make learning an enjoyable experience for the child through a caring and friendly approach. We adopt a curriculum which not only caters to the academic needs of the child but also contributes to the physical and emotional development which will ensure that he/she will become a well-balanced individual and take on the problems of the world with grit and confidence.
We are open to regular updation of our curriculum and teaching methodologies to stay abreast with the constant evolution of the society. We strive to facilitate educational thinking in conjunction with other holistic objectives.
We take pride in providing a safe, secure, clean and peaceful environment with child friendly buildings which are well lit, airy and spacious and filled with comfortable furniture. Our team of support staff ensure a neat and hygienic atmosphere at all times.
We constantly strive to establish unity and a secular society by celebrating all festivals with pomp and grandeur. The different club activities of the school cater to the development of the child and to create and nurture an interest in fine arts among them. The aim is to make the child successful not only in life, but also conscious of his duties and responsibilities towards his fellow citizens.

I wish to add that we at EGAMS still have a long way to go, but we are already so far from where we used to be and I am proud of that.

A warm welcome to the new session 2019 – 20. Our school is a combination of competent teachers, good infrastructure and an experienced and efficient administration. The school came into existence with the vision of creating safe and supportive environment for students. We focus on developing both the mental and the physical abilities of a student. Childhood, youth and learning should be a joy and we strive for that.
While studying at the school, the students will be groomed to be a confident and articulate young citizen, ready to step into the society with dignity, honour and integrity. The school has carved a niche for itself with dedicated efforts of deeply committed management, experienced teachers and active parents. We take the onus of meeting the child’s journey in school rich, with many enjoyable learning experiences by providing them a platform to hone their creative and inter-personal skills. The alumni of our school, who are well settled across the globe is a clear example of their cherishable and vivid learning experiences at school.
The school is well equipped with surplus facilities like AC class rooms, spacious smart class rooms, science laboratories, mathematics lab, computer lab, creativity lab, art & craft room, well stocked library, school management software for administration of school, report card generation, transport system with GPS in all vehicles and CCTV surveillance.
We persistently upgrade and update our teaching tools and techniques. We work around making learning as effortless as possible. We wish to empower our students with changing trends in the learning process, make them smart and confident citizens, who would make us proud of their multifaceted growth.
